Gena Grant
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia. I went to the Atlanta College of Art on a merit scholarship and earned a double major in sculpture and drawing. At the same time I started dancing and singing in a theatre group. We traveled all over the country and Canada garnering national acclaim from such publications as The Rolling Stone Magazine and The New York Times. This led to quite a few years as a professional dancer and choreographer. From that experience, I started doing performance art and making sculptural installations. I have traveled extensively and have always been interested in world culture and folk art. I have lived in Georgia, California, Hawaii, and now in South Carolina, where I am teaching art as well as making it.
